Stop the Contour: Your Nose is Too Wide because of your Eyebrows!!

Ladies and Gents, the trend of nose contouring is far too much! It can be spotted from a mile away. It's like we have a permanent smudge mark from wearing our glasses for too long.

Thank god it is not permanent since it's just makeup. Yes, it's just makeup, we can wipe it away. However, this trend does not look natural. By all means, makeup is an art, so if nose contour is your thing, then do you! However, there is another way to create a narrower nose without surgery.

The Bad:

I mean, as an asian woman, the lady on the right looks odd. Many Asians are known to have little to no nose bridge that exist, but that orange controur is far too obvious.

A simple trick is to focus on the eyebrows!

The trick is to have your eyebrows start closer to the crease of your nose. Check this diagram i made as a reference
We will be using Anthony Davis as our eyebrow model. He's an NBA basketball player known for his unibrow.

With a wider nose to begin with, this trick does wonders for his nose. Just take a look!

Now compare side to side with eyebrows that start at the corner of the eye rather than the crease of your nose.

At a quick glance, you are probably thinking that nothing is wrong with his eyebrows here. Right? However, let me point out that it brings too much focus to the eyebrows. Also, his nose appears wider.

The problem is that the eyebrows are too sharp. Overall, there is an inbalance to the face. if you look at the center of his face, it's out of placed. With the current trend of us wanting eyebrows on fleek then symmetry is something you should be after.

I surveyed my little brother, age 19, and asked which picture he liked. He picked the symmetrical one. He said that the last picture made it look like Anthony Davis was trying too hard with his eyebrows and that they are too sharp.

Now that you know that eyebrows should start closer to the nose, you may face a problem. A lot of people have tweezed or threaded too much from the front of the brow so this trick may not be most convenient for you. If that is the case, then there are eyebrow products that you can use to fill in your sparse eyebrows.

Use whatever method that works best for your face. This is just another tip that i hope will be helpful to prevent a fake and give a more natural look.

Symmetry is important, it is all about balance to the face.

What's your take on this eyebrow trick?

***A photo edting program was used to enhance the eyebrows of Anthony Davis. No actual harm was done to his face sicne his unibrow is his tradmark. Ahahah.
